📚 Creating Classes

Class Types

Classicalia supports four class types, each with specific features:

📖
Latin GCSE
Full vocabulary tracking for GCSE Latin courses
📚
Prep Latin

Join Codes

Each class gets a unique join code (e.g., LATIN-XY4Z) that students use to join. You can:

  • Copy the code using the "Copy Code" button on each class card
  • Display it on a projector for students to see
  • Share it via your school's learning platform
💡 Tip

Join codes are prefixed by type (LATIN-, PREP-, GREEK-, CLASS-) making them easy to identify.

👥 Managing Students

How Students Join

Students need to:

  1. Create a free student account on Classicalia
  2. Go to their Student Dashboard
  3. Click "Join Class" and enter your join code

Once joined, they'll appear in your class roster immediately.

In each class, you can see all enrolled students with:

  • Their full name

Student Actions

For each student, you can:

  • View Profile - See detailed progress and vocabulary mastery
  • Rename - Update a student's display name (useful for nicknames or corrections)

👨‍🏫 Co-Teaching

What is Co-Teaching?

Co-teaching allows multiple teachers to manage the same class. Co-teachers can:

  • View all students and their progress
  • Set and manage tasks
  • Post announcements and resources
  • See the class on their own dashboard

Adding a Co-Teacher

1
Go to your class page
2
Find the Co-Teachers section in Class Settings
3
Enter the email address of the teacher you want to add
4
Click "Add Co-Teacher"
⚠️ Note

The teacher must already have a Classicalia teacher account with that email address.

Co-Teacher Visibility

Classes where you are a co-teacher (not the owner) appear on your dashboard with a purple "Co-teacher" badge. You have full access to manage the class, but only the original owner can delete it or remove other co-teachers.

Posting Announcements

Keep your students informed with class announcements:

  • Share important dates and deadlines
  • Provide study tips and reminders
  • Mark announcements as "important" to highlight them

Students see announcements on their dashboard when they log in.
