Why This Page Matters
This page is explicitly exam-focused. The 11 prescribed letters from Cicero are the primary source material for the Politics of the Late Republic paper. Understanding them means more than knowing their content — you need to analyse their style, tone, rhetorical strategies, and what they reveal about Cicero as a political actor and as a human being. The letters show a different Cicero from the speeches: more vulnerable, more honest, more politically astute in private than in public. The contrast between public oratory and private correspondence is itself an exam theme.
